Bryan Holloway is a UNR graduate, picked up a passion for craft beer in college through homebrewing. Obviously, his passion is exhibited in the fact that he formally studied the craft of brewing in 2 well known institutions . He has completed the International Diploma in Brewing Technology, which took place in both Chicago, IL, at the Siebel Institute of Technology, and Grafelfing, Germany, at the Doemens Academy. All of this is to say he is a serious brewmaster. Pigeon Head Brewery is located in the heart of the informally recognized “Reno Brewery District”, making it convenient to visit other breweries in the District. Food/Entertainment Options are Plentiful.

Pigeon Head does have tent cards on the bar and table where you can order pizza that is delivered to you at the Tap Room. Coming soon Pegeon Head will be opening a restaurant adjoining the Tap Room that will off pub food. Nonetheless, visitors to the Tap Room are invited to order food from anywhere or bring food from any of their favorite establishments.

THE SPACE

Pigeon Head Brewery offers more than just skillfully crafted beer. The taproom was built with the brand in mind. Patrons are treated to a cozy seating area with bare bones elements like wooden tables and benches, open floor plan and a lighted chain link fence looking into the production space. Local art lines the walls and Edison lighting sets the tone. There are always at least a dozen craft beers on tap with a selection of guest hard ciders for those looking to switch it up.

Pilsner–Hops: GR Magnum, GR Perle, GR Saaz – ABV%: 4.9% IBU: 28

Crisp, clean, and refreshing. A golden colored, bottom fermented lager. This beer showcases the finest quality malts and hops imported from Germany. Availability: Year Round.

Black Lager – Hops: German Saaz – ABV%: 5.5% IBU: 8

Light in body, dark in color. This refreshing, traditional German Schwarzbier (“black beer”). Sometimes referred to as a “Black Pilsner”. Availability: Year Round

Red Rye Lager–Hops: German Saaz, Hallertauer, Perle -ABV%: 7.0- IBU: 34

This beer is a hybrid German rye lager The low bitterness allows an initial malty and bready sweetness with slight caramel notes, similar to a red beer, which then fade away to the unique earthy characteristics of the rye malt. Availability: Year Round.

Fly By Night IPA – Hops: Magnum, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe-ABV%: 6.3%- IBU: 37

Well balanced India Pale Ale. Brewed with heaping amounts of west coast hops. Availability: Year Round.

India Pale Ale W/ Jalapeno/Habenero Peppers – Hops: Magnum, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe – ABV%: 6.3% -IBU: 37

Jalapeño and Habanero peppers are added to our IPA post fermentation to give a nice kick. Availability: Year Round.

Silver Sage Pale Ale – Hops: Magnum, Citra- ABV%: 4.8% – IBU: 25

Silver Sage Pale Ale is light bodied and brewed with fresh sage leaves, a Nevada inspired beer. Availability: Year Round.

Swing Shift N.E. Style IPA –Hops: Citra, Mosaic – ABV%: 5.4%- IBU: 50

Soft and juicy unfiltered New England Style IPA. Swing Shift IPA delivers a huge tropical fruit and crushed citrus punch with the addition of a soft water profile and toasted, graham cracker malt backbone. Availability: Year Round

Kokanee Kolsch – Hops: Magnum, Mittelfruh ABV%: 4.9% IBU: 25

Very light and crisp, this Kolsch-style ale is brewed with German noble hops and the finest German malts. Availability: Year Round.
